Learning Objectives

This is an introductory course to the European Green Deal. 

The aim of this course is to give you a basic understanding of what Commission President Ursula von der Leyen is aiming to achieve under the European Green Deal. On completion of this course you will be able to:

• Accurately identify the different aspects that make up the European Green Deal 
• Understand the complexities in completing the transition to a carbon neutral Europe 
• Insights into the proposed and upcoming legislation which will make the European Green Deal a reality.

Course Structure

The course is structured in 6 individual modules. Each module deals with 2-3 different aspects of the European Green Deal. They are as follows:

1. Introduction to A European Green Deal
   
2. Climate ambition & Clean energy
   
3. Circular economy & Building efficiently
   
4. Sustainable mobility
   
5. Food, Biodiversity, Zero pollution
   
6. Financing the Green Deal

Assessment

Within each module you will find a PowerPoint presentation and some additional reading, including official documents. In addition each module has an assessment of some form to test what you have just learned. The instructions for each assessment are outline within the module. 

• Module 2 and Module 3 contain a short quiz. 
• Module 1, Module 4 and Module 5 contain an assignment. (not active in the e-learning version)
